Truthseeker

A drawing done for a roleplay I was in (never got anywhere unfortunately, it was a cool concept), the character isn't mine persay, but 's. He actually just defined the abilities and name of all the Keepers (explanation in a bit) and gave free roam on the personality and appearance to whoever picked each character for the RP. Anyway, here's the story (and character sheet):

Alrighty then, let's get this show on the road. This canon takes place in an alternate version of our world. The technology level, and everything is nearly the same. The only difference is twelve people who inhabit it, each bearing a special power. Well, that's not entirely true.

This world's sun has burned out. To save themselves from an icy death, there are towers erected across the globe, one in every place where the lines of latitude and longitude intersect on the map. These towers go to their world's core and use this energy to fuel heat-generators. These towers have also been adapted into factories, selling all the world's needs. This includes military weapons. Truth be told, these towers are the most powerful things in the world. And like all powerful things, countries wage war over who should own them. Currently, the war is at a standstill, all the remaining forces have an equal amount of these towers (Called spires) and thus there is no favor or edge.

To supplement the light, six satellites, dubbed SOLLI, SOLLII, SOLLIII SOLLIV, SOLLV, and SOLLVI, circle the globe. These are basically giant lightbulbs that produce no heat, and create enough light to illuminate the earth correctly. VERY expensive.

There are also three moons that circle their planet, so the SOLL are shut off at night, and these moons reflect light from stars rear enough to shine at night, but not near enough to produce heat.

In this Canon, I'd like whoever wishes to join to post in here, and claim one of the characters. I'm going to give their Nickname, which is also the name of their ability, and their gender. After you've claimed one, I'll send you a PM with the character application, which you may make minor adjustments to. However, I'll require you to create their backstory, and depending on which character you've chosen, their personality. (No, Shomti, I'm not trying to steal your idea. I just have all the characters set in mind XD) Without further ado, welcome to our world...

In each generation, twelve are born. When one falls in battle, his spirit is passed on to a child born at that same moment. These twelve are called the Keepers, or, they were originally. Now, they are referred to as demons. These twelve were originally placed to guard the great creation of the world, each one with a power that allowed them to alter the face of it. They gained this power, as once the world was created, the one who did so separated himself into twelve new entities. Eleven of these were spirits, but they wished to be mortal, to live, and love, and so on. So they came into mortal bodies. However, the corrupt mind of man caused them to war against each other, dividing themselves into two groups, and fighting against each other. Finally,the twelfth was sent, this one able to create black flames that he could manipulate, a spirit of war. He was sent to stop this conflict, but he only ended up joining it. Now, the twelve forces that were originally stemmed from the Creator destroy the things they were supposed to protect... Or that's how the legend goes. In truth, another planet holds millions of these Keepers, and sends Fourteen out to every planet with life. On the world where this takes place, two were accidentally fused into one soul (Fire and Darkness into the Blackfires) And one (Omnipresence) is unable to be found.

There are two sides, and each one has six members, making for a total of twelve. Ten of these are allowed to be chosen by you. These are the characters:

Name: Will (Truth Seeker) Hourtras

Team Nickname: Shortened to Truth

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Height: 5'8

Weight: 150 lbs

Hair: Silver with black strips, it's short and spiked, but he lets his bangs hang down.

Eyes: His eyes are normally hazel, but when he activates his ability or someone activates it by telling a lie, they turn silver and his pupils contract.

Skin: Slightly tanned.

Clothing: He wears a white t-shirt and army green jacket, combat boots, and ACU Digital Camo Army-issue fatigue. He also wears a rolled-up bandana as a headband.

Personality: Truth is usually light-hearted and doesn’t mind joking around, but his speech pattern is very refined. This allows him to tell part of the truth instead of the whole truth to create the illusion of a lie. He doesn’t like people lying to him though and sometimes lashes out at people who do so.

Weapon: Carries a pair of Army-issue survival kinves.

Ability: Will is able to sense deceit. He just simply can tell a lie from the truth. Nobody is able to lie to him, and if they try, instead he hears the truth they hide (However, if they truly believe what they say, then it doesn't register as a lie. ex. religious beliefs). In other words, if you lie to him, he'll know you're lying, and then he'll also know what the truth is. However, he is also unable to lie himself.

Bio: Truth grew up within the 35-20 NE Spire. His mother was a satellite technician and was often on extended trips in space to repair the SOLLs. Truth’s father worked at a factory manufacturing military clothing, so he received discounts on that clothing, which explains Truth’s attraction to Military uniforms and weapons. One of his father’s close friends was in the Military and Truth often trained with him, growing to become an expert in hand-to-hand and knife-based combat. Truth’s ability to detect lies became a powerful asset in joining the Keeper Branch of the Military, as he found out one of the Military’s top Commanders was selling information to opposing forces during the Commander’s press interview. Since that time, Will has been a member of the Military’s Elite, learning from and supporting others gifted with similar powers.
